Movie Screening: PRESENTED IN AFFILIATION WITH GLOBAL CINEMA CAFE In 1911, Constantine P. Cavafy, the Alexandrian poet, wrote the poem “Ithaki” about Ulysses’ journey home to Ithaca after the Trojan War. The poem inspired this film by Ibrahim El Batout. Ithaki glimpses into fifteen characters whose lives have been touched by war, illness, disability and addiction, fusing documentary and fiction genres to highlight the thin line that exists between reality and fantasy. Dance by candlelight the same dances that George Washington did, taught and called by members of the Germantown Colonial Assembly. At 10pm, enjoy an elegant repast and then dance some more!
