April 21; 1 PM; 30 minutes; Auditorium; FREE Nearly half of the perimeter of New Jersey is shoreline, and of the 48 contiguous states, only Florida and Rhode Island have a greater percentage of saltwater shoreline serving as their borders. While this shoreline becomes a haven every year to thousands of tourists, it also is a haven for sick and injured marine animals. This documentary looks at one South Jersey organization, the Marine Mammal Stranding Center, dedicated to healing these animals and returning them to their aquatic world. Focusing on sea turtles, seals, and whales, this program looks at the different methods used to help these animals recuperate and return to the sea. | ||
