Declaration of Independence To Be Read Publicly in Trenton…Again
The Declaration of Independence was read publicly for the first time in downtown Trenton in 1776 at the Hunterdon County Courthouse on what is now South Warren Street between State Street and Front Street in downtown Trenton. On Tuesday, July 10 at 11 AM the Trenton Downtown Association, in association with the Old Barracks Museum and with the assistance of local political and business leaders, will re-enacted that historic moment. The public is invited and welcome.

Capitalizing on Old Barracks to reopen
The man walked up Barrack Street, hauling a camera and tripod and braving the cold.

It was early January, just days after Patriots' Week successfully celebrated Colonial Trenton and its role in the American Revolution. The man wanted to snap a picture of the Old Barracks Museum to post on his Web site. A history buff, he wanted to bring attention to the barracks built in 1758 to house troops during the French and Indian War.
