Destination Trenton celebrates Trenton’s first annual Restaurant Week from Sept. 19-25
Sep 3, 2010
Trenton’s diverse dining options will take center stage this month when the capital city hosts its first annual Restaurant Week. Trenton’s Restaurant Week is being organized by Destination Trenton, the citywide marketing campaign led by the Trenton Downtown Association (TDA), in conjunction with the statewide Restaurant Week led by the New Jersey Restaurant Association (NJRA).

Restaurant Week, a statewide effort encouraging people to dine out in New Jersey, will be held from Sept.19-25, 2010. During this weeklong event, diners will take advantage of one of three offers at participating restaurants: 20% off the guest check, complimentary dessert and coffee, or a $35 fixed price meal featuring Jersey Fresh products.

"We are very excited to be participating in this year’s Restaurant Week. Trenton has a vast array of eateries, boasting with international flair for diners to choose from -- South and Central American, Italian, Caribbean, Polish and the list continues,” said Candice Frederick, Destination Trenton Tourism Marketing Manager. “This is a great way to introduce diners to our very diverse restaurant community."

Participating Trenton restaurants include Katmandu, Howard’s Place, Trenton Kebab House and Rozmaryn Restaurant. Participation forms are still being collected. All participating restaurants will be available on the www.dineoutnj.com website.

Trenton’s Restaurant Week will be kicked off with the second annual Trenton Sampler at the Friday, Sept. 10 Trenton2Nite. The Trenton Sampler is a friendly competition between restaurants downtown. Like Restaurant Week, the purpose of the sampler is to introduce or reintroduce diners to restaurants downtown. Attendants will be able to sample the food from participating restaurants, and then vote for their favorite.

Tickets are $5 and include a shot at a $50 gift certificate to the winning restaurant. Proceeds will be distributed among participating restaurants. The sampler will be held outdoors at the Trenton Marriott Parking Garage Plaza, on the corner of Warren & Lafayette streets.
