Soap Stash: Trenton’s Source for All-Natural Skincare

Nestled in the heart of downtown Trenton, Soap Stash is more than just a skincare and accessories store—it’s a dream realized. Founded by Trenton native Tuepeai Williams, Soap Stash offers high-quality, 100% natural body care products crafted by hand and powered by a passion for health, community and empowerment.

Tuepeai’s journey into skincare began with a personal goal: finding relief for her youngest daughter’s persistent skin allergies. Frustrated by ineffective treatments, she turned to nature and education, studying ingredients and attending workshops so she could create her own. Soon, she could barely keep up with the demand from friends and neighbors to make more. Her own father took one of her products home and later remarked, "You made this? Wow! I am going to help you bring these products to market." Tupei went to school for a year and learned to write a full business plan, but from the start her goal was to provide quality products and the best possible, natural ingredients.

“I wanted to learn how to hydrate, protect and heal the skin the natural way,” she says. That commitment led to her first product launch in 2013. As a vendor at Art All Night that year, she sold out quickly and had to run home to make more. Demand for her skincare products quickly outpaced supply.

After several years of building her brand online and at vendor markets, Tuepeai opened her storefront in late 2023 at 8 West Lafayette Street. "I was born and raised in Trenton,” she says. “I want to be part of the change to bring Trenton back. There’s so much talent here—we need to tap it.” Her dream is to see Trenton thrive as a creative and entrepreneurial hub, comparable to popular nearby towns like New Hope.

Soap Stash’s product line reflects her local, all-natural ethos. Recent product launches include the Ivory and Bamboo Body Butter, a rich hydrator made from shea and mango butters, and an expanding range of Butter Lips in fun flavors like Chocolate Majesty and Green Goblin. Some of her most popular items are hits for men, such as beard oils and conditioning balms, as well as body scrubs in luscious formulations like vanilla honeycomb and strawberry. The skincare products at Soap Stash are crafted with nourishing ingredients such as aloe, coconut oil and lavender extract—no synthetic fillers or preservatives are used.

Soap Stash is also known for its handmade candles and cozy loungewear. The store also offers build-your-own product workshops and educational sessions to help customers better understand what goes into their skincare routines.

“I want my business to be different,” Tupei says. “I want people to come in, learn something, and feel inspired—whether that’s to care for their skin naturally or to start something of their own.”

Visitors can find Soap Stash through the rear entrance at 8 West Lafayette Street. Bonus: Soap Stash offers Trenton Parking Authority chaser cards so you can park for free for two hours in the nearby Liberty Commons Garage on 16 E. Front Street. You can also shop online with free shipping on orders over $75.

From body butters to beard oils, natural products are the “balm” at Soap Stash. Come see—and feel—the difference for yourself.
