Drawing from Life

Taught by John Gummere, these two-hour workshop sessions will focus mostly on drawing the nude human figure to build confidence working with proportions and angles. We will start out with short poses and increase the time to create more developed drawings that incorporate a range of light and shadow.

The first three sessions at minimum are planned for in-studio work; later sessions may include work outside with a clothed model and/or drawing taxidermy specimens at the New Jersey State Museum.Recommended materials: large newsprint pads; vine charcoal and conte crayon; smaller/medium size drawing pad, 11 x 14, white paper; pencils ranging from HB to 4B; erasersRegister today at https://artworkstrenton.org/education/
