Join Trenton NAACP this Saturday, April 19 from 12 to 6 PM at 120 E. State Street for our Free Immigrant Know Your Rights Conference.
We’re partnering with Latino Action Network, Latin American Legal Defense and Education Fund, Assemblyman Anthony Verrelli, Council President Yazminelly Gonzalez, Trenton Public School District, New Jersey Policy Perspective, Trenton Health Center, and others to educate the immigrant community and allies about:
(1) ICE-free safe spaces,
(2) knowing your rights if confronted with ICE or other law enforcement,
(3) law and policies that we’re advocating to get passed, and
(4) worst case scenario planning in case a family member gets deported.
We’ll also have lawyers on site to hear immigration cases.
We’ll have the event both in person and streaming on Trenton NAACP’s Facebook and our zoom so people can get this information in the safety of their homes. For those on site, we’ll have translation devices, food, childcare, live music, live art, and security will be on site for participants’ protection. And not to mention, the entire event is free!
