Introduction to Drypoint w/ Amanda Chesney

Discover the art of drypoint etching in this two-session, hands-on workshop! You’ll learn how to design, carve, ink, and print your own original intaglio prints using the professional etching press in the Artworks Print Studio.

In this class, you’ll:

• Explore the intaglio printmaking technique of drypoint etching
• Create a unique design by carving lines into plexiglass (some hand strength required)
• Ink and print your plate by hand
• Take home a small series of original prints

No drawing experience or prior printmaking knowledge is necessary — tracing techniques are welcome! All supplies are included. Please bring a few images (approx. 5” x 7”) for inspiration.
