Since then, astronomers have discovered thousands of these planets – known as "exoplanets" – circling distant stars. Josh Winn, Princeton professor and author of "The Little Book of Exoplanets," will explain why it took so long to find them, what new technologies and techniques were required, and what kinds of planets have been found.
