Winard Harper, a true virtuoso on the drums, has performed with such greats as Dexter Gordon, Betty Carter, Johnny Griffin, Ray Bryant and Carmen McRae, to name a few. Director Damien Chazelle cited Winard Harper as the inspiration for his Academy Award-nominated film “Whiplash.”

Opening for Harper is Grammy-nominated composer and renowned jazz bassist Curtis Lundy, perhaps best known for his performances with jazz vocalist Betty Carter. Mr. Lundy quickly gained acclaim playing rhythm on the albums of fellow jazz luminaries John Hicks, Bobby Watson, Steve Nelson and Johnny Griffin and is noted for his collaborations with musicians Art Blakey, Branford Marsalis and Wynton Marsalis.

Also opening is versatile jazz drummer Greg Bufford, who studied under master drummer Philly Joe Jones, has worked with such names as Dee Dee Bridgewater, Randy Weston, Freda Payne, Dakota Staton, Leslie Uggams, Steve Nelson, Sonny Stitt, Little Jimmy Scott, Vaughan Mason and Crew, and more.
